The Wolfgangsee is a lake in Austria near Salzburg. The town and the lake are named after Saint Wolfgang of Regensburg, who according to legend, built the first church here in the late 10th century. The lake is 10,5 km wide, stretches from northwest to southeast and is surrounded by the Salzkammergut mountains. The shore is pretty steep and you can only walk parts of the lake. This is what we did in September 2015 during a ten days trip to Austria. It is really a nice spot to take walk and spend some calm and relaxed days at.
